Just wanted to give an update on the tomato plants I used the Wall O Waters on this year. I removed them in mid May, dumping the water out and then line drying them to put away for next year. All the extra work of setting them up and taking them down appears to be worth it so far.
I'm hoping you can note the difference in the photo below. Plants on the left and right side of the fence were started by seed (the same kind) in February. The ones on the right side of the fence were planted outside in the Walls O Water in mid March, and are now approaching 6ft tall.
The Wall O Water plants have lots of good size green tomato plants on them, while the plants set out the regular way just have blooms. It will be interesting to see if they catch up to their taller siblings.
Only one cherry tomato was started with the Wall O Water. Not sure if the pictures below tell the story.
|This cherry tomato was set out without the Wall O Water and is about 1 1/2 ft tall.|

The one started with the Wall O Water is very bushy, loaded with blossoms, and is about 4ft tall. No tomatoes yet.
Will give another update at the end of the season....
Enjoy the day-
